The Creative Circle Ranking is a year-round leaderboard that recognises the agencies, brands, and individuals consistently delivering award-winning work across our categories. Rankings are based on cumulative performance across Best of the Month, Best of the Year, and other recognised awards, giving the industry a transparent view of who’s shaping the creative standard in South Africa.
The Creative Circle endorses the following awards: Cannes, D&AD, the Loeries, The One Show and the Creative Circle Annual Awards, and assigns points only to these shows.
The Creative Circle Ranking system reflects agency performance across all Creative Circle–accredited award shows.
There are five accredited shows:
Â
Best of the Year is a standalone award show recognising the best work from the calendar year. All Best of the Month winners automatically become finalists in Best of the Year.
The Creative Circle publishes:
Individual rankings for each of the five accredited shows (including Best of the Year).
An overall ranking based on combined performance across all five shows.
The Creative Circle does not independently calculate or reinterpret results. It reflects agency performance as awarded at each accredited show.
A standardised points system is applied across all five shows to ensure equal weighting, so that no single show carries more influence than another in the overall rankings.
The Top 10 agencies in each show are given weighted points, depending where they came in the show, as follows:
This allows for a fair measure across different shows: The agency that comes first at Cannes gets 25 points, and the agency that comes first at the Creative Circle Annual Awards gets 25 points.
Wherever there is a tie, both agencies get the same points, and the next in line is skipped. E.g.If there is a tie for 3rd place, each agency gets 15 points and the next agency is 5th, not 4th.
If two or more agencies share a credit, the points are divided.
