Vumile Mavumengwana is a brand design specialist and creative director with over 20 years’ experience in visual communication. He is the founder of VM DSGN, a Johannesburg-based multidisciplinary studio recognised for pushing the boundaries of contemporary, culture-led brand design.
Driven by storytelling, cultural insight and meaningful impact, Vumile is regarded as a notable voice in African design. His work spans major local and international projects, including Apple Music’s Africa Month, TotalEnergies’ Africa Cup of Nations jersey, and B20 South Africa. His work has been widely featured and recognised, and he has served as a juror at leading global award shows such as Cannes Lions, The One Show and D&AD, alongside regular judging roles at The Loeries and Pendoring Awards – amplifying African creative perspectives on global stages.
Vumile has held senior creative roles at top agencies including Ogilvy, Joe Public, M&C Saatchi Abel and VML, building deep expertise across brand identity systems, integrated creativity and conceptual design leadership.
