Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Dopemine, Grant’s career spans more than 20 years. Soweto born and raised Grant Sithole definitely has done a few big things in the game. Hailing from Meadowlands, Grant’s journey through advertising started at the AAA school of advertising where he studied Copywriting. The love for football and the new-found love for the ad-game sometimes came to a head, but scripts and shoots came out the clear winner over touchlines and penalty shootouts when he scored an internship at FCB Johannesburg.
This was to be the first in many chapters in a well-documented journey with one of SA’s biggest agencies and the awards and day-to-day work tell that tale very clearly. Vodacom, MTN, Standard Bank,FNB, Old Mutual, Tiger Brands, Wimpy, Refreshhh, DSTV and Coca Cola are just some of the brands Grant would touch and make iconic advertising with that unmistakable SA flavour for.
Ogilvy, Bakone, Avatar, FoxP2 and most recently Publicis would also get a a taste of the award-winning writer/Creative Directors skills as he charted a colourful path through the industry. And somewhere between all that, around the time he was at Ogilvy actually, the radio/broadcasting bug bit hard and he found himself landing an advertising related show on CiffCentral called GMan The Adman.
