Danni Pinch

Creative Circle Executive Committee | Danni Pinch

Danni spent her early career in London, where she started as a receptionist for a PR agency (after graduating in English & Drama). Not being the best receptionist ever, she pestered her way into a PR job, where she worked on Budweiser (she did PR for the original Wassup campaign in the UK, among other things).io

Emigrating to Cape Town in 2004, she spent a few years working on Cape Town and Joburg Fashion Weeks before being hired by Atmosphere, part of the King James Group. She’s been at King James ever since (which has since transitioned to become Accenture Song). In that time, she moved from being a Creative Director in PR to launching Society (a social media agency) and eventually becoming ECD in the integrated agency. She loves working on jobs that blend digital culture, emerging media and entertainment. Some of her most awarded campaigns have included the world’s first WhatsApp drama series, Ukshona Kwelanga; turning Table Mountain and Prince Albert into Roblox games for Wesgro; and persuading Cassper Nyovest and Pearl Thusi to become Conspicuous Savers for Sanlam. And in the last few years she’s judged at Cannes Lions, One Show, Webby Awards, Loeries, and The Bookmarks.

As a trans woman in advertising, she is a passionate believer in bringing your full self to work, even if you need to discover that self along the way.
